Sunday July 10th saw the RCCAOI 1/8th Onroad National Championship return to St. Anne’s Park in Raheny, Dublin for Round 2 of the 2022 Series.
Sunshine and a dry track greeted all competitors and practice got under way just after 9am.
Four qualifying rounds then followed with tq swapping hands in both GP and GT categories.
First up was the GP final with Graeme Lougheed and Austin Elliott locked in battle for the top spot on the podium , in the end Graeme took the win with Austin in second and jason noonan taking the third spot on the podium.
Next up was the GT PRO final , the gt class always throws up some great close racing and this final had some great battles between Stephen o Connor , jason noonan and lee Kelly all looking capable of taking the top spot on the podium , when the chequered flag was dropped it was Stephen o connor who took the win with jason noonan in second and lee Kelly filling the last spot on the podium
Overall a great days racing and that leaves one more round on September 18th at St. Anne’s Park to decide the national titles for 1/8 gp and 1/8 gt nitro classes , we look forward to another competitive days racing that day.
