1/8th Nitro & E-Buggy RallyX

Important Info: Changes to 1/8 RallyX

In response to lower than normal attendances this year and recent feedback from members, the RallyX committee has decided to trial a “hybrid” format at the final round of the 2024 1/8th RallyX Nationals on August 3rd/4th at BADMCC. Please read carefully as all 1/8th Offroad classes are affected:

There will be a reintroduction of an Open practice session on the Saturday afternoon for Nitro Buggy, Ebuggy and Truggy. The track will be open for free practice from approximately 2.00pm to 5.30pm.

To facilitate this, and as long as there are less than 20 entrants in total, Ebuggy and Truggy will run a short format on Saturday morning consisting of open practice, one heat of qualifying, and 3 leg A Finals for each class. The grid for the A final will be reset each time to reflect the overall A Final points at that stage. So the single qualifying round’s purpose is to set the grid for the first Leg of the A Final only. This section of the meeting should be complete by 2.00pm.

The idea behind this format is to make the availability of extra practice as fair for everyone as possible. Many drivers struggle to double class on the same day, so clearing the Ebuggy and Truggy meeting away before the Open practice starts maintains that fairness.

One entry fee will be applicable for each day only. If you wish to avail of the extra Open practice session, you must book in for it and pay the entry unless you are already racing on the same day. If you race Ebuggy or Truggy on the Saturday, your entry for the day is paid and you may participate in the Saturday Open practice session at no extra cost. If you do not race Ebuggy or Truggy and just want to participate in the Open practice session on Saturday, you must enter and pay separately to your Sunday entry and payment. Sunday entry does not cover you for Saturday practice.

Timetable changes:

Saturday ONLY: Gates Open: 8am, Briefing: 8.50am, Open Practice 9.00 – 10.00am, Qualifying 10.15 – 11.15am, 3 Leg finals starting at 11.30, 12.30 and 1.30pm. Open Practice at approx 2.00pm after awards.

Sunday: Remains as is, except if 20 or less entries the timetable will start an hour later. Announcement made on Thursday 1st Aug.

Please come and try the new format and we will take members opinions after it has been trialled. We want to build healthy and popular 2-day National meetings and with all classes reduced in numbers this year, this could be a way of adding value and levelling the playing field. The new format gives drivers who only do Ebuggy or Truggy more track time and more value for their entry fee now their day has been reduced.
